详细信息:CHEMICON™'s Skeletal Myogenesis Kit provides the reagents to efficiently differentiate mouse C2C12 myoblasts into mature skeletal myotubes. By efficiently promoting myogenic differentiation, the kit is a valuable tool in studies examining myogenesis, transcription factor regulation, and in developing strategies for muscle cell replacement therapy. By providing the means to obtain and maintain a large population of skeletal myotubes, the kit provides a valuable source of cells for multiple applications in the study of muscle biology.
The kit includes two Differentiation Supplements which are added to serum-free culture media, and a Myogenesis Matrix which, when coated onto tissue culture plates, facilitates adherence and differentiation of skeletal myotubes. The Differentiation Supplements are specially formulated to inhibit overgrowth of undifferentiated myoblasts, thus allowing differentiated myotubes to be stably maintained for at least two weeks. Enough reagents are provided to perform 96 separate experiments on 24 well plates. By making volume adjustments, the kit can be adapted for use in small-scale benchtop experiments or in high-throughput or high-content screening applications.
