Once p38 is activated it will then phosphorylate a number of transcriptional factors thereby transmitting the signals from cytoplasm to the nucleus. The constitutively active MKK6 can be used to activate p38a MAP Kinase (SAP2Ka, MAPK14). GST-MKK6 is a 63 kDa GST (N-terminus) fusion protein containing full-length constitutively active mutant MKK6(E).
